Private Kindergarten in Riga for Children from 2.5 Years

Insait is a licensed private kindergarten offering strong Latvian language development, opportunities to learn other languages, and thoughtful preparation for school in a safe, calm and child-friendly environment

Our Educational Programme

At Insait Kindergarten, we follow a Latvia-licensed preschool education programme (Programme Code 01011111) for children from 3 years of age until the start of school. Children are welcome to join from 2.5 years
Our aim is to support each child’s steady, balanced and all-round development, with a particular focus on language development, thinking and early learning skills, emotional well-being, and calm and confident preparation for school in Latvia.

This approach is especially important for children growing up in multilingual or internationally mobile families, where stability and emotional safety are key.

How Learning Happens

Learning at Insait doesn’t stop when an activity ends. It happens throughout the day, as part of everyday life as children are learning to care for themselves and others, share responsibility for their environment, have meals together, and go on walks.
Children learn best through real experiences. This approach allows skills to develop naturally and without pressure, in situations that feel meaningful and understandable to the child

We place great value on an individual approach and on building a strong, trusting relationship with families. Parents are invited to monthly one-to-one meetings with the Director of Insait, where they can openly discuss:

  • their child’s development and language progress,

  • how the child is settling into the group, and their emotional well-being,

  • readiness for the next stages of learning.

This regular dialogue helps identify challenges early, reduces uncertainty for parents, and supports thoughtful decision-making — particularly important for families navigating a new education system or living abroad.

Latvian Language in a Unifying Learning Environment

Latvian language learning at Insait is gradual, structured and respectful.
We do not rush children or expect instant results. Instead, we create the conditions for confident, long-term language development.

Latvian is the main language of daily communication and learning, helping create a unifying environment for children from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds.

Speech and early literacy are supported through the Burtu Takas methodology, developed within the Insait educational setting, together with a communicative approach that focuses on using language in real, everyday situations.

Learning Environment and Daily Rhythm

The daily rhythm at Insait is designed to help children feel safe, calm and secure. Our environment is structured yet flexible, adapting to each child’s age and individual needs.

Learning takes place through:

  • play and shared activities,

  • conversation,

  • developing independence and self-care skills,

  • mealtimes,

  • outdoor play and exploration.

This supports language, thinking and social development at a natural pace, without unnecessary pressure. A sample daily schedule is available in the Documents section.

Emotional Safety

Emotional safety is a core value at Insait Kindergarten. Our educators work calmly, respectfully and consistently, creating an environment where children feel listened to, accepted and protected.
Raising voices, humiliating language, rude behaviour or any form of physical force is never acceptable in our educational setting.

English Language — Through Extracurricular Learning

For international families, language is both a tool for communication and an important part of a child’s identity. At Insait, we support this balance with care. English language learning is offered as an afternoon extracurricular programme, designed to fit naturally into the child’s day without overload or pressure. The programme supports communication skills, confidence and curiosity, while always taking into account the child’s age, readiness and overall development.

Language options are discussed together with families, and programme choices are made with guidance from our specialists to ensure a healthy balance between English development, Latvian language learning and the child’s emotional well-being.
